Mortician License in West Virginia
You cannot obtain a mortician license in West Virginia but you can apply for a funeral director/embalmer license. To qualify for a license you will need to earn at least 60 credit hours of classes at an accredited college or university. You will also need to earn a diploma or certificate from an accredited mortuary science school and do an apprenticeship.
To continue to hold your license in this state you will be required to do seven hours of continuing education every two years. Three of these hours must be in general funeral service education and four hours must be in occupational safety or health-related training.
