Mortician License in Vermont
The state of Vermont does not offer a mortician license but it does offer a funeral director license. This licensure is handled through the Vermont Board of Funeral Services, Office of Professional Regulation.
Before you apply for a funeral director license here you will need to attend mortician school and pass the board approved written exam. The Vermont Board of Funeral Services can provide more information on the education necessary for this license. You must also work as an apprentice and assist in directing at least 30 funerals while being supervised by a licensed funeral director or embalmer.
To maintain your license in this state you will be required to complete 10 hours of continuing education classes every two years.
