Mortician License in North Dakota
It is not possible to obtain a mortician license in North Dakota. However, you can get a funeral practitioner license in this state. To qualify for one, you must complete 60 credit hours of classes at an accredited college or university and graduate from an accredited mortuary school. You must also pass the national conference exam and complete an apprenticeship.
If you already hold a funeral practitioner license in another state, and would like to begin working in North Dakota, your licensure may transfer to this state. If you want to do this, the requirements for the license you have must be comparable to North Dakota’s requirements.
There aren’t any continuing education requirements for licensed funeral practitioners in this state.
