Mortician License in New Mexico
The state of New Mexico does not grant mortician licenses, but it does offer funeral service practitioner licenses. To qualify for this license you must finish two years of college, including 60 semester credit hours or 90 quarter credit hours of classes. You must also graduate from mortuary school. License applicants are required to complete an apprenticeship.
To continue to hold your license in this state you must complete 10 credit hours of continuing education classes each New Mexico fiscal year, which is July 1 through June 30.
