Mortician in Delaware

In Delaware, you cannot become licensed as a mortician, but you can become a licensed funeral director. To do this, you will need to contact the Delaware Board of Funeral Service for an application.

The qualifications for this license include having a high school diploma and an associate’s degree (or its equivalent) from an approved and accredited school and earning at least 60 credit hours of education. You must also complete an apprenticeship after you graduate.

To continue to hold a valid funeral director license in Delaware you must earn 10 hours of continuing education every two years.
